About Us
Dundalk Institute of Technology is the leading 3rd-level, higher education provider in Ireland - Northeast. The Institute has 4000 full-time students and 1000 part-time students.
The Institute has developed a broad range of Bachelor Degree programmes, as well as numerous taught Masters Degree programmes within its 4 academic schools:
School of Business and Humanities;
School of Engineering;
School of Informatics, Music, and Creative Multimedia;
School of Nursing, Midwifery, Health Studies and Applied Sciences.
The Institute also has 6 Research Centres on campus, which support Research and Development activities, and Research-based Masters and Doctoral programmes:
Centre for Entrepreneurship Research;
Centre for Renewable Energy;
National Centre for Freshwater Studies;
Netwell Centre for Ageing;
Smooth Muscle Research Centre;
Software Technology Research Centre.

Recent years have witnessed the transformation of the campus at Dundalk Institute of Technology. Facilities on campus include:

As well as the great choice of courses on offer, there is an excellent mix of over 60 student sports clubs and cultural societies at Dundalk Institute of Technology. The college is also a short walk or bus ride to Dundalk town centre, where there are excellent recreational amenities, including retail parks, shopping centres, a sports bowl, soccer dome, all-weather racing track, ice dome, cinemas, theatre and restaurants.
The Gateway town of Dundalk is ideally located for going to college. Just 50 minutes by train from Dublin city, 45 minutes by car from Dublin Airport and one hour from Belfast, the town –located midway between Dublin and Belfast - is easily reached on the M1 motorway from all major towns in the northeast region.
County Louth itself is a place of great natural beauty, with the Cooley Peninsula, Moutains of Mourne and Carlingford providing an attractive and scenic backdrop to Dundalk.

Bachelor programmes are offered at both Level 7 (3-year general degree programme) and Level 8 (four-year, honours degree programme). Postgraduate degree programmes at Level 9 are typically one-year, full-time taught programmes, with opportunity in some instances to take a programme part-time over 2 years, or by research.
