The Application Process
Applying for a course can be a complicated process for international students, so you should be completely confident in your choice before setting the process in motion. Familiarise yourself completely with the course and the institution and ensure it is the one for you...
Application for most full-time undergraduate courses is made through the Central Applications Office (CAO). An application pack and all relevant information is available from:

Applicants, and international students in particular, should avoid applying near to the Closing Date. The table below provides the closing dates and fees that were involved in 2008, applicants should check the CAO website for any changes in 2009.

Non-EU applicants should contact these colleges well in advance of the Closing Date of 1st February, and preferably not later than the previous 15th December.
Postgraduate - On the website www.pac.ie applications for postgraduate courses in five universities (DCU, UCC, NUI Galway, NUI Maynooth, and Trinity College Dublin) can be made online, for all other programmes please contact the institution in question directly.
English Language Requirements - International applicants must demonstrate a proficiency in English in order to be accepted on to a third level programme, e.g. a generally accepted level of competency in the TOEFL exam would be a score of 220 in the computer based test or 550 in the paper based test. However, the level of proficiency that is required varies a lot, so you should contact the college in question for the English language requirements of the course that interests you.
